Serving the Latino|Hispanic|LGBT Community with Pride

It is amazing that what started as a concept at a work table to address our
communities needs a few years ago, not only became a reality, but that people
everywhere liked it enough to read the first issue, then the second, and now we
are here –on this incredible ride, 6 years later and counting!
There have been many choices out there for news, entertainment & interest-
specific publications since we started Ambiente. Some are great - most are
forgettable, many have simply disappeared.
What I believe makes Ambiente different has been our consistent level of
respect we hold for you, our reader, and what we believe and hear you tell us
you want from and in this publication.
With the first issue of Ambiente Magazine, we had a simple but lofty goal – to
produce a product, free of charge, bilingual, honest, professional, respectful,
timely, entertaining & educational… and something our mom’s wouldn’t squirm
or be embarrassed looking at!

What I believe makes Ambiente different has been our consistent level of

The work & partnership of Bodega Ave, PFLAG, PETA, GLAAD, SLDN, Heroes
Foundation, Sarita’s Sensations, and EarthTalk, along with Jeff Dorta, Andy

that have inspired and brought life to the virtual pages of Ambiente.
All of this was reaffirmed as Ambiente participated in the First-ever Miami Beach
Gay Pride Festival this past spring, where I was fortunate enough to meet many
of our local audience, along with many out-of-towners, and get wonderful
feedback & encouragement from all who visited our booth, marched along with
us in the parade, and continue to request bi-monthly receipt of Ambiente.
As we enter our 7th year of publishing, we continue our commitment to offering
you a green product – At Ambiente, we love newspapers and we love
magazines, but we love our planet even more. This is why we made a clear
decision from day one to produce Ambiente.us as an online publication
exclusively. There has been much pressure to compete with a paper version of
our product, but some things are more important than a bit more profit - our
earth's health and well being and a clean future for the next generations - for
starters. This saves countless trees, energy, keeps chemicals & dyes out of our
rivers, ground & oceans, our streets & landfills cleaner and less full, and our
information and news as earth-friendly and timely as possible!
Our 7th year comes with a new format introduced last season, with a scroll
design that is easier to read, offers concise images & news headlines & generally
more user-friendly. Ambiente grew from a monthly publication to our current bi
monthly format, offered on the 1st and 15th of each month, free of charge & on
the web. Our wonderful advertisers & sponsors allow us to bring you great news,
informative articles and yes, some great products and offers, without
overwhelming you with hard-sells. You know where to find them in Ambiente &
where to shop!
We are expanding our local coverage across the U.S. & Latin America, with
dedicated columns & writers in major metropolitan areas to bring you relevant
Foundation, Sarita’s Sensations, and EarthTalk, along with Jeff Dorta, Andy

Es sorprendente que lo que comenzó como un concepto en una mesa de
trabajo para abordar las necesidades de nuestras comunidades hace unos
años, no sólo se convirtió en una realidad, sino que a personas de todo el
mundo les gustó lo suficiente como para leer el primer número, luego el
segundo, y ahora encontramos 6 años después, en este increíble viajeque
solo comienza.
Han surgido muchas opciones para noticias, entretenimiento y publicaciones
de interés específicos desde que empezamos Ambiente. Algunas son muy
buenas - la mayoría faciles de olvidar, muchas simplemente han
desaparecido.
Lo que creo hace diferente a Ambiente es el constante nivel de respeto que
le tenemos a Usted, nuestro lector, y lo que Ud.s dicen que desean de
nosotros y esperan de nosotros y esta publicación.
Con el primer número de la revista Ambiente, que tuvo un sencillo pero
noble objetivo - ofrecer un producto, de forma gratuita, bilingüe, honesto,
profesional, respetuoso, oportuno, divertido y educativo ... y algo que
nuestras Mamás no se avergonzaran mirando!
Mi orgullo personal en todo esto ha sido la de supervisar y desarrollar esta
visión para Uds. - nuestros fieles lectores. Mi reto ha sido mantener y
proporcionarle nuevas ideas, caliente, interesante y nuevos escritores,
up-and-coming estrellas, un poco de atracción sexual para los hombres y

poco más de beneficio - como la salud de nuestro planeta y el bienestar y un
