visado por la persecución y matanza que los fundamentalistas religiosos llevan a
cabo contra los hombres gays. ¿Hay alguna manera de que yo pueda quedarme
legalmente en EEUU sin ser deportado una vez que caduque mi visado?
R: Estados Unidos te permite calificar para el asilo si puedes demostrar que correrías
peligro en tu país basado en ciertos aspectos personales. El asilo se puede otorgar
si un individuo puede demostrar que califica como refugiado por persecución anterior
o por un miedo bien fundado de persecución en el futuro por razones que incluyen el
pertenecer a ciertos grupos sociales.
Para propósitos de solicitud de asilo, el gobierno estadounidense ha dicho que la
gente lesbiana, gay, bisexual y transgénero (LGBT) puede calificar como uno de esos
