A MAGICAL NIGHT FOR A HEAVENLY CAUSE: Unity
Coalition|Coalición Unida Leads Efforts for So. Fla Haitian
Relief Star-Studded Event

Miami Beach, Florida - High above the crashing waves, fading evening sun and throngs
of seasonal visitors to famed Ocean Drive in Miami Beach, another party full of glitz and
glamour was just getting started on Saturday evening. We Are ONE:  A Fashion Show
and Red Carpet Reception to Support Haiti’s Rehabilitation, was held this past March
20th.  A collaborative effort by MYami Marketing the Clevelander Hotel in Miami Beach
and Unity Coalition|Coalición Unida (UC|CU), along with hundreds in attendance, made
this an evening to remember!

Sephora South Beach, G-Star, Brown-Foreman Beverages, fashion stylist Pipi Loose
and singer/performer Yvonne, along with the help & support of many others, put on a
first-class fashion show on the Clevelanders rooftop terrace and under the stars.
Grammy nominated & Haitian activist Melky Jean gave words of praise, Miami Beach
Commissioner Michael Gongorra presented one of many proclamations for the effort,
including accolades from Miami-Dade County Commissioner Bruno Barreiro and also
from U.S. Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.

“I would like to thank you for a wonderful event and the work that you are doing. As Ms. Jean
stated, with many hands, the
load will be less….  I sincerely believe that will make great things happen for my beloved
Haiti.  The work has just begun, we have long way to go.”  said event guest Marie-Claire
Dorcely.

Unity Coalition|Coalición Unida (US) and Global Action Foundation (US) in collaboration with
Quisequeya in Action (Haiti) have partnered and are already conducting internal
assessments and UN coordinated registries of over 1,000 persons living in Quisqueya's 5
compounds and 2 orphanages. These internal assessments will allow us to determine
attitudes, needs, and perceptions that will pave the way to a smoother transition into
temporary and eventually permanent housing for persons living in these camps.
The Haitian heads of government have already agreed to provide lots of land for
our temporary housing project, and while we are expecting public and private
sponsorships, we are also aware of the need to spearhead a massive local
fundraising effort.

“Please keep in mind that our non-profit efforts are supported by the US, Haitian,
and Dominican government, ensuring that execution and implementation of our
project are possible.” said event organizer & UC|CU board member Vanessa
Brito.  “I could not have been prouder of our community tonight - A magical
evening for a heavenly cause.  Unity Coalition|Coalición Unida is and will remain
committed to the rebuilding of Haiti and the wellbeing of its people” added UC|CU
president Herb Sosa.
