Mike Korbini| You are
very well-known as a
nightclub host, promoter,
writer, celebrity, activist,
icon and Diva.  Which do
you most identify with
and why?

Elaine Lancaster| Yes it is
true I wear many wigs & I
relate to all qualities that
I possess. However I do
not define myself by my
positions in life,  i.e. job,
celebrity, size of my.....
hum hum…house.
Toys that one may
possess.. But if I was
forced to compile all
into one I would say,
Actor.

MK| What puts a smile
on your face?

EL| Often times I am multi
tasking, thinking &
perhaps forget to smile, but I always have a smile in my heart.  I have so much joy
for life and trying to find ways to improve the quality of it not just for myself but
others...
MK| When meeting new friends, what is
the ONE quality you look for?

EL| Authenticity.

MK| Who were your mentors?  Why?

EL| My Parents.....they taught me solid
core values & respect for myself & others...
taught me to give back since I have been
so lucky, privileged to lead the life I live.

Although we never went without a thing
we were forced to earn it in one way or
another… So we placed value on work &
the rewards.

MK| How did a boy from Alabama end up
blossoming into Elaine Lancaster?  Was it
instant or a gradual transformation?

EL| I was born in Alabama, but moved at
the tender age of 5 & have keep moving
forward & living & hopefully learning all
the time. I often say that the smaller the
pot the more brilliant the blooms.

MK| What advice would you give to a young boy today, with visions of big hair
and high heels?
Tirelessly working, jet-setting, performing, hob-knobbing with A-listers and
continually fundraising for good causes – all while in high heels, big hair and
couture, Elaine continues to “share the goodness of her heart with the men of
the world while entertaining everyone else.”

Jackie Collins herself couldn't have dreamed up or penned a better Elaine.

A special thank you to Dale Stine, Herb Ritts & others for their images of Elaine.

Elaine Lancaster | Entertainer, Fundraiser & South Beach Diva

Many entertainers today do the required charity jobs and fundraisers to keep
their name out there, but few perform for a living to support their true passion,
the charitable work and what they can give back to the world.  One fine
example is actor James Davis, the creative force that developed and is the
ever-glamorous and larger than life diva, Elaine Lancaster.

Davis was born in Alabama and raised in Georgia, while Elaine was “born in the
lap of luxury, pampered by all, and spoiled rotten. Like the true diva she became,
she managed to spend every dime thrown her way developing an unquenchable
quest for more. Not just more jewels and designer fashions, luxury brands, but
more of everything. Driven by the need to live life in the spotlight, fame had to
be hers so the world became her stage.” says Davis.

As if she stepped right out of the pages of a Jackie Collins novel, Elaine
Lancaster is as glamorous and beautiful as the characters of Hollywood Wives.
Elaine Lancaster was actually named after two characters from that very novel,
Elaine Conti and Karen Lancaster.  As befitting a Jackie Collins novel, Elaine’s life
has been filled with glamour, travel, celebrities and a few twisted scenarios- One
being the fact that the gorgeous Elaine Lancaster is in reality a man when not
performing.

I recently had the opportunity to chat with my longtime friend
and South Beach icon, and this is how it went.

EL| It's hard work, but if you do it for the right reasons it can be a wonderfully
fulfilling life... It has opened doors for me that I never knew existed... Some
horrible, but I quickly slammed them shut - Mostly doors to a world that so few
ever envision let alone dance through.

MK| If you had some magical pixie dust and could change ONE thing in the world
today, what would it be and why?

EL| End of Ignorance.

MK| You have been performing in South Florida for years.  What keeps you here?

EL| I started out in Miami Beach in 1997 & worked primarily here for years in clubs
then it evolved into the Arts, then charity then Society... I am a fundraiser,
activist, Actor, lover, child, brother/sister, writer, optimist, traveler, leader,
student & teacher.

MK| What do you find most attractive about Miami?

EL|The topography & geographical location of South Florida to my interest & my
loves (family & friends) If it is true that home is where the heart is, the HOME is
Miami for me.....at least for this moment in time.

MK|  Any future Community Service work/Projects/Travel, you want to tell us
about?

EL|  In April I will host the Bay Point Schools charity gala @ new beautiful Canyon
Ranch (April 4th).  As I am sure you know I co-starred in a film which debuted this
past season @ the Cannes Film Festival which documented the behind the
scenes look at my charity/fundraising work... Happily I can say in the past ten
years I have helped directly raiser over 20 million dollars for various charities &
donating 100% of all the money raised... That is true charity... I now would like to
get involved with President Clinton & the Clinton Global Initiative. I think that is a
direction I would like to go towards. Of course I love the spotlight too so I have
to do projects on the other side that are not so charitable.. I have to fulfill that
ego too…
.

On April 18th Elaine will be at the Grand Gala at the Eden Roc Hotel in Miami
Beach, Starring Kristine W., Patti LaBelle, Lil' Wayne, Elaine Lancaster, Pamela
Anderson, David LaChapelle & many, many more.

Please visit Elaine's FaceBook page & click on Notes & read all about it!

The camera loves Elaine Lancaster and the diva Elaine loves the
camera.  Her television credits include Entertainment Tonight
(six appearances), Good Morning New York, Good Morning
Ireland, Deco Drive, Current Affair, Inside Edition, Hard Copy,
and NBC’s WINGS. Many remember her unforgettable
appearance in the HBO documentary “Drag Time” and her
feature debut in the “Versace Murder” movie which was
released for television in the United States after debuting at
Cannes International Film Festival and playing theaters in
Europe. Elaine starred in After Dark: South Beach an A&E
presentation and hosted a special edition of Wild on South
Beach for the E! Entertainment Television. In 2008 the film "the
Fundraiser" debuted in Cannes for International Film Festival
which was chosen as a special selection. Elaine was also the
host for the Vanity Fair Magazine party at the
Hotel du Cap in
Antibes, France 2008.
