The Self-Proclaimed Guidette we all love to hate, is, as it turns out - NOT.
Snooki, alias Nicole Polizzi, aka "The Ultimate Guidette," is actually.. Chilean, her
cast-mate Jenni "J-WOWW" Farley revealed during a recent visit to FOX's 'The
Strategy Room'
"So what does she mean when she says Guidette?" asked the semi-incredulous
FOX anchor, Jill Dobson.
J-WOWW's response? "That's a stereotype that people misconstrued with
Italians. It's a lifestyle. Like, the scene that we're in. It's not like Italian."
J-WOWW is open about her lack of Italian heritage; she's Spanish and Irish by
descent. Snooki is adopted by an Italian family, hence her surname. J-WOWW
also revealed that "Ron's not full Italian either," referring to Ronnie Magro.
This news comes just weeks after the New Jersey Italian American Legislative
Caucus criticized 'Jersey Shore' for its promotion of derogatory ethnic
stereotypes (See: Profuse and unapologetic
usage of the term "Guido"), calling it "wildly
offensive."
